AirSon Engineering manages the future expansion of E.ON ectogrid™ at Medicon Village in Lund, Sweden

At AirSon, we are proud to lead the continued expansion of E.ON's innovative energy recovery solution, E.ON ectogrid™, at Medicon Village in Lund. E.ON ectogrid™ aims to create a flexible and local energy infrastructure system where energy can be circulated, shared, and reused between buildings with different energy profiles. This results in a scalable and energy-efficient solution capable of producing all the necessary heating and cooling in a single system. The innovative technology, which utilizes low temperatures and distributed heat pumps, has the potential to help entire neighborhoods minimize their energy consumption for heating and cooling.

Medicon Village, founded by the Mats Paulsson Foundation for Research, Innovation, and Societal Development, is now home to over 170 life science companies and organizations, where thousands of individuals work to drive progress forward. Within the E.ON ectogrid™ Medicon Village project, 15 commercial properties and residential buildings with varying heating and cooling needs have been interconnected. Before E.ON ectogrid™, approximately 10 GWh of district heating and 4 GWh of district cooling were required to heat and cool the properties. The goal is now to balance 11 GWh, with an expected 65% reduction in supplied energy.
